Suspension.
Stoneware. Soda firing. Metal ropes.
When I came to Roja it seemed for me to be a place suspended in between two epochs. The time when Banga kolchoz made Roja the place of fast prosperity and unique region in Latvia (also because it was a closed area, unreachable for people without permission), and nowadays where modern is juxtaposed with old post-fabric buildings that makes one think about illusory nature of hopes and dreams we have at any given time.
As my practice is about a trace of presence and a reference to memory and perception, in a desire to preserve the moment, I wanted to make a suspended ephemeris forms that alludes to silence and balanced gentleness of the place.
RE – flections.
Floating lights.
To keep something unkepable…
