Verners Lazdāns /LV/
The Food Chain.
Plywood, acrilic paint.
Verners Lazdāns has strongly applied himself in painting, and in recent years has also turned to three-dimensional objects. The forms he creates in both paintings and sculptures are metaphors for what he sees in nature – the sea, the newly ploughed earth and the power of the artist’s hands in the sculptures. Whether it is an oil painting or a piece of clay, exposed to subconscious impulses during the process of creating a work of art, they eventually transform into an authentic object. The works of Werner Lazdāns tell us and remind us of the inner or spiritual space of man, which is more sensed.
